A winter sunset, Blue and our valley Watchman

This is a walk I often take, last thing in the day, as I know I will always be rewarded with a fabulous view of our mountains slowly absorbing the last winter suns rays and turning pink, its a magnificent sight any time of the year and is always really beautiful.

Tonight the mountain view was enhanced by a dusting of snow and the colours really glowed.

As you can see from the photos, the mountains always seem to mellow with the sunset, it takes only about 10 minutes to get these photos so you really have to be in the right place at the right time but its worth it!

We have a gorgeous huge rock that overlooks our valley and the next, I always think of him as a stern but kindly guardian looking over us and keeping us safe. His face changes in the evening sun, glowing in the first picture, as the evening sun hits his face, and then looking a lot more serious as the sun goes down. I think he is a good rock though… Notice how, in the third picture, he looks like a baby (or at least I think he does!)

And then there is Blue, our ever faithful walking companion, he just rushes out of the door for an evening walk with as much enthusiasm aged 12 as he did when he was a puppy, he still is a puppy as far as he is concerned. The only problem is that is its impossible to get a picture of him in focus, his tail is always wagging! notice the blur at the end of his body in each of these shots

Keep on going Blue - we love you and your waggy tail!
